History & Administration
The Mooresville Fire- Rescue (MFR) has a long, proud history of providing quality services to the citizens of this community. Since the department's inception on May 10, 1910, our firefighters and administrative staff have built a reputation for innovative and progressive leadership in fire services.

The administration of MFR consists of a fire chief, deputy fire chief, assistant fire chief, three battalion chiefs, and an administrative assistant. Our suppression division includes the ranks of captain, engineer, senior firefighter, and firefighter. Our Fire Marshal's Office includes a fire marshal and three assistant fire marshals. Our department operates on a 24-hour shift schedule - our crews are on shift for a full day followed by two consecutive days off.

We continue to evaluate our services as we seek to become more effective and efficient in delivering quality fire services to meet the ever-changing needs of Mooresville and the Lake Norman area. Thank you for the privilege of serving this community.
