Planning & Community Development

The Planning and Community Development Department is a professional, service-oriented department which encourages balanced growth through best practices. We are committed to enhancing quality of life through creative, efficient, and effective application of development policies, programs, and services designed to meet the needs of the entire community.

Our goal is to help guide orderly growth and development within the Town of Mooresville, always with an eye toward the future. We are responsible for long range and short term planning for transportation, land use and zoning as well as code enforcement, community development, annexation, and the land development process. Planning staff also serve as liaisons to several volunteer advisory boards.
