Selma Burke Community Room
The Selma Burke Community Room is located in the library's Williams Wing, offering the quaint charm and historic beauty of the original library building. This room offers meeting space for 501(c)(3) eligible nonprofit groups of up to 35 people in a classroom or boardroom setting, and up to 50 people in a lecture hall setting.
The room is equipped with WiFi, white boards, projection screen, microphones, DVD player, and laptop connectivity for PowerPoint and other presentations. The kitchenette in the Williams Wing is available for light refreshments and finger foods to be served.
The room may be used during normal library operating hours up to 15 minutes prior to closing. It will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the date of submission of the request. Library programs always have priority over non-Library programs.

Who Can Reserve
The Library offers meeting rooms for the use of groups who meet the following criteria:
- Organizations who meet federal guidelines for 501 (c)(3) Tax Exempt status
- Groups with who the library has an Historic Partnership
- Groups that are Town or Library sponsored
- Educational classes sponsored by, or in formal collaboration with the Town or Library
Room reservations are made through an online application form.Please read and agree to the Meeting Room Policy before you submit the application.
Applicants (representing the Group) must be 18 years of age or older.
Online reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance, but not more than 30 days ahead of time, unless it's Town or Library sponsored group.
Groups may not reserve the meeting rooms on a recurring basis or for more than three meetings per year unless specifically listed in the policy or sponsored by the Town or Library.
Groups are responsible for set-up, break-down, and clean-up of Rooms and returning the room to its original condition.
The Library requests that Groups provide 24 hours of notice for any meeting cancellation. Failure to provide this notice may jeopardize future bookings. Reservations for Rooms will be automatically canceled when MPL closes for inclement weather or emergency situations.
Room is not reserved until Groups receive a email Confirmation from the Library.
Confirmation will be given upon: Verification of information on the application, and Library's determination of availability.
Abuse of Privileges
Abuse of the meeting room, such as disorderly conduct, leaving the room in a disorderly condition, violating regulations, or failing to use a scheduled room, may bar the group from using the room again. The Library will charge for any damage done. The Library Director is authorized to deny permission to use Library rooms to any group that is disorderly or violates regulations.
