"The Mooresville Public Library has affected my schoolwork. There is such a great variety of books at the Mooresville Library. I wrote a research paper on the "Birth of a Nation" movie and the Mooresville library was the only local library with an obscure book that focused on the movie specifically. They also had a Metzger book that I used for a New Testament research paper. Great library with great resources!" -Library User

"Our family is so thankful for the Mooresville Public Library and to the Town of Mooresville, Lowe's Home Improvement and other donors for the privilege of resource sharing. This library truly enhances our lives. We have seemingly endless book and video selections for our young children and ourselves. We nearly always check out a book on CD before a long trip to enhance the quality of our travel time and feed our minds "as we go." Our favorites have been The Chronicles of Narnia.

The resources from MPL enrich the quality of our childrens' home education as well. Our "curriculum" for science, history and reading is FREE because it comes from the shelves of this library.

We are planning a move overseas to a non-English speaking nation. Among the things we lament leaving are the faces and resources of this library. Thank you for promoting and cultivating literacy and learning in this community. The MPL is a beacon in this town."

"The Mooresville Public Library is one of the first places I visited upon moving here from Pittsburgh over five years ago. My kids and I fell in love with the Children's Department. At the time my oldest was three and my youngest was a baby.

Fast forward to 2011: My youngest is now in kindergarten my oldest is in second grade, and we still love visiting the library on a regular basis.

A library is so essential. It's what makes a town a community!"

"My family & I moved to Mooresville in 2004 and have made the library a vital part of our lives.

We moved here from Raleigh, where there was a huge network of branch libraries, so coming to a town with one location was a big adjustment! One of the things that made the adjustment more pleasant was the helpfulness of the staff.

We watched as the new addition to the library took place, all the while getting to know the staff more & more as our visits became more frequent due to our homeschooling. It didn't matter to us the dust, improvements or the relocation of our favorite books, we still visited. We know the value of research, current information, a wealth of past history & the avenues which open our minds via the library.

Today, when we walk through the automated doors, we're greeted by name & in return, greet those behind the counters by name. The library is not only a fun place to go, it's a place to connect, to share, to grow & help others expand their horizons.

If knowledge is truly power, then the library is the portal."
