Library Tech Services

The Technical Services and Systems division serves two purposes:

1. The library's cataloging staff receive and check books, audio books, DVDs, and other materials ordered by the various selectors on the library staff and process them for placement into the library's collections. Cataloging staff also manage the records in the library's online catalog and may be required to spend additional time locating and editing catalog information for newly-purchased items.

2. "Systems" involves working with the online library management system vendor as well as the Town IT Department staff to maintain the system, which provides the online catalog inside and outside the library, manages the circulation of materials, generates notices. It also includes managing the 39 computers that are available for the public to use.
