B Squad - Captain Falzone
Captain Frank Falzone supervises “B” Squad in the Mooresville Police Department’s (MPD) Patrol Division and also commands the Special Response Team. He began his career with the MPD in 1996. Falzone was selected as a Field Training Officer and Tactical Team Member in 1998. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2001, to Lieutenant in 2002, and to his rank of Captain in 2007.
Falzone holds General Instructor Certification through the North Carolina Department of Justice and is an instructor in the MPD’s in-service training program. He is a TASER electronic control device instructor and teaches courses in the Basic Law Enforcement Training program at Mitchell Community College.
As part of the department’s focus on community policing and outreach, Falzone founded Police Explorer Post #612 in 1999. The program gives young people an opportunity to gain awareness of the law enforcement profession and to have positive interactions with police officers.
Falzone has completed undergraduate coursework in criminal justice at Mitchell Community College. He is a member of the North Carolina Police Executives Association, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Southern States Police Benevolent Association.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Falzone served in Operation Desert Storm. He was awarded the MPD’s Meritorious Conduct Medal in 2008.
