School Resource Officers

The Mooresville Police Department, in partnership with the Mooresville Graded School District, implemented a School Resource Officer Program in 1998. The program focuses on maintaining a safe school environment for students, teachers, administrators and staff.

Each School Resource Officer is assigned to a school and maintains a presence there throughout the school day and during school functions. Because the officers spend much of their time on the school campus, they have the opportunity to build trust and relationships between the students and police.
