Police Staff & Structure
The Mooresville Police Department is led by a Chief of Police and supported by an administrative staff. There are two distinct divisions within the department: Patrol Division and Administration Division. Each division is led by a major.
Within the Patrol Division, there are four squads of police officers and each squad is led by a captain. These officers are responsible for responding to all calls for police service within the Mooresville town limits and engaging in other patrol activities.
There is a Community Services Unit under the Patrol Division. It is led by a captain and comprised of Student Resources Officers, D.A.R.E. Officer, Traffic Safety Unit and Crime Prevention Officer.
In the Administration Division, functions such as training, recruiting, records management, dispatching, evidence management and investigations are structured. The functions of records management, dispatching and investigations are managed by captains.
